Dr. Maya Nagaratnam, an accomplished anaesthesiologist, holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Imperial College London, complemented by Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthesia (FRCA), Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Management from University of Leeds in England. 

As a pain and anaesthesiology consultant at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and a contributor to medical education at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), she brings a wealth of experience. 

Trained in top UK institutions, including the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, and St Mary’s Hospital, London, Dr. Maya is one of the few consultants in Malaysia on the General Medical Council specialist register in the UK. Her expertise, honed at University College Hospital, London includes a focus on endometriosis and pelvic pain. 

Dr. Maya's specialisations cover monitored conscious sedation, total intravenous anaesthesia, and advanced pain management, from chronic nerve pain to cancer-related pain. A trained acupuncturist certified by the British Medical Acupuncture Society, she introduces innovative treatments like PENS (percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) in Southeast Asia, offering solutions for pain that defies traditional interventions.
